Without Seeking Where Would We Be?

Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost"

There is nothing more central to a spiritual life than to cultivate the posture of a seeker.

Can you think of a time you’ve been lost? I mean completely lost and on your own. I remember a time like that for me in the subways of London – at midnight. There’s something about being lost that focuses the mind and energy. Of course, my goal that night in London was to find where I was going. My seeking that night had a purpose; to be found and end my seeking.

However, there is another kind of seeking that has a very different role in life. It’s the seeking that comes when we embark on a life of love, wisdom, and spirituality. That kind of seeking also has a quality of “lostness” attached to it. But the end goal is not to be “found” and terminate the search. The search for a deeply lived spirituality is an ongoing one – one that enriches life the more we pursue it.

Over the month of May (2021), the Aldea community will explore what it means to be a seeker of spirituality. We believe this to be so central to life that we look at this idea once a year. May is that month for this year. Join us as we consider the seeker’s way and how the path of a seeker makes all the difference to the quality of our lives and relationships.

As we consider this important topic, each week we’ll provide and post:

You can also join us each week in April 2021 for a live zoom gathering that explores the weekly topic. These gatherings occur Sunday’s at 10 a.m. PST time. You can also watch the gathering on our stream here on our website at 10 a.m. PST.
